Lincoln Ventures Ltd has a wide range of skills in metrology and instrumentation, mathematical, statistical and modeling techniques, uncertainty, image processing, molecular microbiology and electrochemistry, subsurface water movement, nitrogen processes, as well as IT and GIS tools.
These skills are applied to a range of topics, from groundwater modeling, moisture measurement, biosensors, image analysis applications, to information tools for horticulture production systems and agrichemcial application management..
Lincoln Ventures Ltd was created in 1994 as a subsidiary of Lincoln University, by combining a number of semi-autonomous operations. These included the New Zealand Agricultural Engineering Institute, the Kellogg Farm Management Unit and the Centre for Resource Management.
We provide research and professional advice to a range of clients, building upon a solid base of long-term, government funded research.
A very close connection with research users has encouraged a focus on real-world problems.
We employ about 40 research scientists, technicians and support staff to carry out research in its own right.
Very close links with Lincoln University at times provide another doorway to its considerable resources. Our primary role however does not include the commercialisation of intellectual property generated within Lincoln University. Lincoln Ventures Ltd should not be confused with the applied research or commercialisation offices at other New Zealand universities.
