Hydraulic Network Analysis and Design

Lincoln Ventures has been responsible for research into and generation of algorithms for some of New Zealand’s most successful IT solutions in water resources and environmental management. Sustainable use of increasingly scarce water resources is not possible unless irrigation systems are designed to utilise water and energy efficiently.

Complex mathematical solutions for the design and analysis of pipe networks have been developed for use in IRRICAD, which is widely accepted as the world leading irrigation design and management package. The software uses a linear programming method to optimally select pipes and then a sparse matrix solution of simultaneous equations to hydraulically analyse the system.
