The following is a sample of mature technologies, ready for commercial uptake, in which we would welcome additional commercial interest.
Kiwifruit counting
Counting kiwifruit is a bit like counting sheep only more so. But, packhouses demand early packout data, so Lincoln Ventures developed ‘Kiwibuggy’ to rapidly traverse the rows and tirelessly count the whole crop rather than a small sample. It uses cameras and smart software to provide this important management information for growers and packhouses.
We see this as an opportunity either for a specialised service provider or for a service package offered by a packhouse.
Non-invasive measurement of moisture profiles
Moisture measurement is a crucial parameter for many situations, including roading, soils, timber and food. Our technology provides rapid measurement of moisture profiles in a range of materials without disturbing or penetrating the material. This new instrument can, for example, show how the moisture of timber changes with distance from the surface.
Biosensor developments
Our rapid SciTOX measurement technique can supplant the traditional five day BOD5 measurement in waste water treatment plants, or rapidly screen the raw input for toxins that would cripple its operation. This technique, broadly protected by international patents, has numerous spin-off applications.
